Natural Language Note Search
Find notes using conversational queries instead of keywords
The Problem
You know you wrote something down, but you can't remember which note it's in or the exact words you used. Traditional search requires precise keywords and often returns too many or too few results.
The Workflow
Step 1: Describe What You're Looking For
Ask Claude to find notes using natural language.
Prompt to use:
Find the note where I wrote about the API design
for the user authentication system. I think it was
from a few weeks ago.
Example output:
Found 2 relevant notes:
1. "API Design Decisions" (Created: Jan 5)
Contains: "User authentication will use JWT tokens..."
2. "Backend Architecture Notes" (Created: Dec 28)
Contains: "Auth flow: OAuth2 -> JWT -> refresh tokens..."
The first note appears most relevant to your query.
Step 2: Read the Full Content
Once you identify the right note, get the details.
Prompt to use:
Show me the full content of "API Design Decisions"
Step 3: Find Related Notes
Discover other notes on the same topic.
Prompt to use:
Are there any other notes that mention authentication
or JWT tokens?
Step 4: Create a Summary
If you found multiple related notes, consolidate them.
Prompt to use:
Summarize all my notes about authentication into
a single overview. What are the key decisions and
any open questions?
Expected Result
Finding notes becomes as easy as describing what you remember. No more hunting through folders or guessing keywords.
