Computer Use

Computer Use for any AI, on your Mac

Computer Use for any AI client. Let Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client see and control your Mac apps. No desktop takeover, no screen uploads, no ChatGPT subscription.

Works with any AI

Claude Desktop, Cursor, Raycast, Claude Code, ChatWise, LM Studio, or your own agent. No ChatGPT Plus required, no Claude lock-in.

Stays out of your way

Runs in the background. Your cursor, typing, and active window stay untouched. Macuse drives the target app without taking over your desktop.

Yours, end to end

One app, one purchase. Your screen and data never leave your Mac. Every new app your AI wants to drive triggers an explicit approval prompt.

Macuse is the only one that works with multiple AI clients, runs in the background, and keeps your screen off the cloud. If you already live inside ChatGPT Plus and want an agent that takes over your desktop, Codex does that well. If you want Claude to drive a cloud VM, Anthropic's Computer Use is the right pick. If you want Computer Use on your own terms, that's Macuse.

Questions people ask

Is Macuse an alternative to OpenAI Codex Computer Use?

Yes. Codex Computer Use requires a ChatGPT Plus subscription and takes over your desktop in the foreground. Macuse works with any MCP client (Claude, Cursor, Raycast, Claude Code) and runs in the background, so your current window and cursor stay untouched.

How is it different from Anthropic's Computer Use?

Anthropic's Computer Use runs in a cloud VM and drives Claude by looking at uploaded screenshots. Macuse runs entirely on your Mac, reads your apps directly, and works with any AI client. Not just Claude.

Do I need ChatGPT Plus or a Claude subscription?

No. Macuse connects to whatever AI client you already use. Bring your own Claude, Cursor, Raycast, ChatWise, LM Studio, or any MCP-compatible tool.

Does it take over my computer while it runs?

No. Macuse drives the target app in the background. You can keep typing in another window while your AI is filling out a form, clicking through a menu, or scraping data from an app that has no API.

What about my privacy?

Everything runs on your Mac. Your screen and the data your AI reads from your apps never leave your device. Every first use of a new app triggers an explicit approval prompt, and you can revoke access anytime from the Permissions page.

Which Mac apps does it work with?

Any Mac app with a standard macOS interface: native Apple apps, Electron apps, browsers, design tools, IDEs, productivity apps. If you can click, type, or read it yourself, your AI can too.
